TO ATTEND THIS EVENT, YOU MUST RSVP SEPARATELY.

Mike Lazaridis, co-founder of Blackberry, leading IT visionary, and mastermind of Canada’s Quantum Valley, will provide keynote remarks for the conference. Quantum Valley is both a geographic location clustered around the University of Waterloo, Ontario, and a high-tech ecosystem where academics, incubators, investors, and industry work closely to develop and commercialize quantum technology, as well as educate the private sector and government. The event will explore the “best practices” of Canada’s Quantum Valley in order to derive lessons that the U.S. can apply to its own quantum sector.

In addition, it will highlight avenues for collaboration between the U.S. and Canada—a key goal of the Quantum Alliance Initiative. Mr. Lazaridis’ keynote address will be followed by a panel discussion, with time at the end for audience Q&A. Panelists will speak to the unique ways Canada has developed to incubate, foster, and commercialize quantum technologies from basic scientific research to launching start-ups—ways that highlight a close collaboration between academic, industry, and investment organizations. Panelists will also discuss the successful policies, such as those toward intellectual property, that have allowed Quantum Valley to flourish, in addition to the sustained support of the Canadian government.
